The yoga tradition offers a process for realizing your heartfelt intention, it’s the practice of cultivating your sankalpa (your deepest hearts desire).
sankalpa means intention in the sense of a prayer or resolution formed for the attainment of a spiritual purpose.
At times it may be difficult to feel clear on what your intention is, The most effective practice that i have learnt from my teacher to clarify intention is to simple sit with my deepest desires. Write them down and then decide what would be the impactions in my life it they (the desires) and not realized.
What is your deepest desire?
-- it is financial gain.
What would be the greatest loss in your life if financial gain is not realized?
-- loss of quality spent with family and friends because of working multiple jobs or overtime.
Your intention would be =
-- I HAVE SPACE IN MY LIFE TO SPEND WITH THOSE I LOVE TO BUILD LASTING LOVING RELATIONSHIP
Once you have found clarity around your intention the choice is yours as to whether use your own intention as a mantra or a more traditional one.

-- "sita ram, jai jai ram, sita raamm, sita ram, jai jai ram, sita raaamm"
Here are some thought provoking questions to help lead you if you are feeling challenge to verbally express your desire.
What do you need to let go of in order to move forward?
What would you like to draw more of into your life?
What promises have you never carried through for yourself?
If you could choose only one word to describe what you would like for your life, what would it be?
How are things going for you, now?
What must you do daily to keep yourself ‘sane’?
If you could ‘dare yourself’ what would it be?
What one thing do you need to do next to improve your life?
What do you wish for?
What do you consistently attract in your life that is no longer good enough for you?
If you woke up tomorrow with a habit gone, what would it be?
What are your three most important goals in life right now?
What are your views on spirit guides, do you feel you have one?
Are there any animal characteristics you can relate too?
** It is not necessary to send all the answers to all of these questions, read through each one to let them help narrow down your thoughts.
